Environmental Board

The Environmental Board of Pewee Valley is committed to promoting environmental education and stewardship within our community. Each year, we organize two primary initiatives.

In April, we host an Environmental Day for the students of St. Aloysius School at the city park. This event features a series of educational tables focused on the importance of trees and environmental conservation. As part of the day’s activities, tree whips are distributed to participating students to encourage hands-on learning and engagement with nature.

Our second major initiative takes place in October, when we hold a tree giveaway for Pewee Valley homeowners. This program supports the planting of trees on public and private properties throughout the city. In recent years, we have partnered with Natorp Nursery to supply the trees for this event.
