A Glimpse into Our Past...
Established in 1852 as Smith's Station, Pewee Valley has a storied past that reflects the growth and spirit of our community. The name was changed in 1856 when Charles Franklin Smith established a post office, and was inspired by the Eastern Wood Pewee bird that frequents our area. This unique origin story highlights the charm and character that define Pewee Valley today.
Pewee Valley hosts various community events throughout the year, including seasonal festivals and public meetings. Check our events calendar for the latest updates.
City Council Meetings are conducted the First Wednesday of each month at Pewee Valley Town Hall at 6:30pm
