PROPER CONTAINER PLACEMENT AND USAGE
Believe it or not, how you place your container at the curb is crucial for clean and efficient service.
- Republic Services is a cart content only, automated service.
- Have your container at the curb by 6:00 a.m. of your collection day.
- Place the container preferably five feet, no less than three feet from any object, including but not limited to; another cart, a tree, pole, fire hydrant, mailbox, electrical box, cable box, cars, etc. so the automated arm can reach your container(s).
- Do not lean anything against the container.
- Do not place your container under a tree or near utility lines.
- Place containers one foot from the curb or edge of the street.
- Remember to place the arrows on the lid of the container pointed toward the street and handle toward your residence, with the lid closed.
- Containers can safely hold approximately 70lbs of waste
- For a bulk item that will not fit in the cart, or questions regarding acceptable material, please contact customer service at 502-638-900 at least 24-business hours in advance.
NOT ACCEPTABLE
- No construction/demolition debris. This includes, but limited to; studs, drywall, sinks, tubs, toilets, cabinets, etc.
- No large amounts of fencing……A few planks may be OK if no longer than 4ft in length. Must be tied and bundled.
- No concrete, brick, tile, etc. or landscaping material such as; logs, railroad ties, landscape timbers, concrete blocks, dirt, or sod or yard waste material; logs, stumps, shrubs, etc.No liquids of any kind such as paint, thinners, pesticides/insecticides, household cleaners, motor oils, fuels, etc. Water-based paint is acceptable but needs to be solidified with kitty litter or other granular absorbent material.
- No medical bio-hazards; sharps, chemo diapers, oxygen tanks, etc.
- No electronics
- No large vehicle parts, body or interior and no tires of any kind
Curb-Side Junk Pick-Up
Residents are allowed one bulk item per week, please call Republic prior to putting out bulk items @ 638-9000. (All mattresses, box springs and furniture must be wrapped in plastic.)
